Tracking the fate of 200 unsolicited manuscripts rejected in one calendar year by the American Journal of Roentgenology, a researcher has found that the majority—117 manuscripts, close to 60 percent—eventually found a home in other scientific journals, according to an analysis running in the June edition of that very journal. 

European researchers have reviewed a huge mammography dataset and found no association between screening mammography and a reduction in the incidence of advanced breast cancer. 

I attended a lot of great presentations at RSNA 2016 in Chicago, but the one by Paul J. Chang, MD, on Nov. 28 had perhaps the biggest impact on me. 

On Day 4 of RSNA, attendees heard from Marlen Pajcini, MD who presented, “Is MR of the C-spine in Acute Trauma Patients Indicated?” 

The RSNA 2016 session, "Next Generation Infrastructure for Medical Imaging," introduced participants to the importance of image sharing and exchange with regard to the quality of care a radiologist delivers.

Organizations are working in sync to put a focus on mandating optimized radiation doses in nuclear cardiology studies performed across the nation and beyond. 

Though radiologists spend a majority of their time interpreting images behind a computer screen, proper communication with both referring physicians and patients still plays a significant role in providing the best care possible.
