N.Y. facility employs TomoDirect

The Institute for Image-Guided RadioTherapy (IIGRT) of Westchester, N.Y., is offering a new radiation therapy treatment for breast and other cancers, TomoDirect cancer treatment technology from TomoTherapy.

TomoDirect can shorten the duration of a course of radiotherapy and apply radiation beams to targeted regions of the body, said the Madison, Wis.-based TomoTherapy. IIGRT will be the first facility to offer the radiation therapy technology in the New York area, said the Rye, N.Y.-based institute.
