Varian introduces linear accelerator

Radiotherapy technologies developer Varian Medical Systems introduced its TrueBeam medical linear accelerator for image-guided radiotherapy and radiosurgery to clinicians at the 10th annual meeting of the Asia-Oceania Congress of Medical Physics (AOCMP) in Taipei, Taiwan last week.

The system—which offers synchronized imaging, patient positioning, motion management and treatment delivery—can deliver doses at up to 2,400 monitor units per minute via its High Intensity Mode, stated the Palo Alto, Calif.-based company.
