SIR taps Susan Holzer as executive director

The Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) has appointed Susan E. Sedory Holzer as the organization's executive director, effective Jan. 3, 2011.

Holzer, who currently serves as chief strategy officer for the American Academy of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery, has held research positions with Medstat Group and the National Institutes of Health's National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders.

Washington, D.C.-based SIR aims to improve patient care through minimally invasive procedures and includes 4,700 physicians, scientists and allied health professionals.
