Varian announces FDA, CE Mark clearance for VitalBeam radiotherapy

Varian Medical Systems received regulatory clearance in the U.S. and Europe for its VitalBeam radiotherapy platform, netting both 510(k) clearance from the FDA and the CE Mark.

The company said VitalBeam incorporates many of the features from its previous TrueBeam system, offering modular technology designed for high-throughput treatment centers.

Chirayu Medical College and Hospital in Bhopal, India, was among the first to acquire the new platform, according to Varian.
