MRI scoring system could prevent unnecessary biopsy of osseous lesions

osseous lesion on MRI.

Sagittal T1 (a), Sagittal STIR(b), and Axial T1 (c) images of the femur. There is a focal STIR hyperintense and T1 hypointense bone marrow signal abnormality in the mid-femoral diaphysis along the medial cortex. This signal abnormality has a nodular morphology with well-defined convex edges. This lesion was scored a 7 (morphology was scored 3, signal was scored 2, and progression was scored 2) due to its increase in size since the prior study.
