Eckert & Ziegler plans to re-enter U.S. market

Radiation technology company Eckert & Ziegler is planning to re-enter its radiation therapy division the U.S. market by way of a strategic alliance with brachytherapy treatment information group Core Oncology of Santa Barbara, Calif.

Via the terms of the partnership, both companies will cross-market their products and determine further research and development programs, said the Belgium-based IBt Bebig, which is a subsidiary of Eckert & Ziegler.

IBt Bebig has made an initial investment of $2 million in Core Oncology in the form of a subordinated loan maturing before 2010, which the company hopes will help to expand revenues in the therapy segment.
