FDA clears Medtronic's MRI for neurosurgery

The FDA has granted 510(k) clearance for Medtronic’s PoleStar N30 Surgical MRI system for neuro-oncology surgical procedures. The company simultaneously launched the imaging system.

Providing imaging in the operating room, the PoleStar Surgical MRI seeks to provide surgeons with targeting and navigation for the anatomy movement that may occur during a surgical procedure, according to the Minneapolis-based Medtronic.
