HHS invests nearly $50 million in public health workforce
The Health Resources and Services Administration is awarding $23 million in grants to 37 public health training centers to provide professional development for current public health workers and to train future public health workers, according to an Aug. 29 statement.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is providing $25 million to public health fellowship programs, including funding for 227 new fellows in contract and field positions, to support the placement of fellows in state and local public health departments.
