Medrad inks distribution deal with Pennsylvania radiotherapy company

Medrad, a subsidiary of Bayer HealthCare, has signed a distribution agreement with Avondale, Pa.-based radiation therapy provider WFR-AquaPlast/Qfix Systems, for the company’s Pro-Tekt endorectal balloon device.

The single-use device—which immobilizes the rectal wall and adjacent structures of the anatomy and enables repeatable positioning throughout the course of the radiation treatment—is now being made available to healthcare providers throughout the U.S., Australia and Europe, stated Warrendale, Pa.-based Medrad.
