Swiss hospital deploys Varian technology

University Hospital of Zürich is now treating cancer patients with Varian Medical Systems' TrueBeam system.

The system is a platform for image-guided radiotherapy and radiosurgery that was designed for the treatment of a moving target, said the Palo Alto, Calif.-based company. According to Varian, since the implementation, physicians have delivered treatments for prostate and lung cancer, as well as schwannomas and brain and spinal metastases.
