TomoTherapy notches Methodist Medical placement

Radiation therapy equipment developer TomoTherapy has installed its Hi-Art treatment system at a Peoria, Ill.-based facility jointly developed by Methodist Medical Center and Midwest Urological Group.

Although the TomoTherapy system may eventually be used to treat other cancers at this site, it will primarily be used to treat prostate cancer, according to the company. The Madison, Wis.-based Tomotherapy said the facility is currently treating approximately 25 patients a day.
