Varian provides Istanbul facilities with radiotherapy solutions

Medical device and cancer treatment software company Varian Medical Systems has provided three recently renovated oncology centers in Istanbul with medical linear accelerators for radiotherapy.

Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Medicine Faculty, the American Hospital MD Anderson Center and the Istanbul University Oncology Institute have installed Varian's Clinac devices equipped with RapidArc radiotherapy technology, which will deliver a volumetric intensity-modulated radiation therapy treatment in single or multiple arcs of the treatment machine around the patient, said the Palo Alto, Calif.-based company.
