Local Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign Gets National Street Cred

Earlier this month, Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging Centers, Las Vegas, was selected as a finalist in a national PR awards contest for their highly popular #SaveALife campaign.  The attention-getting video, which featured The Chippendales, was designed to increase awareness around breast cancer prevention and early detection. Back in October of 2015, SDMI released the video encouraging women to do regular self-breast exams as a method of prevention and early detection of breast cancer.  Teaming with a number of the Las Vegas Chippendales men, an audience of enthusiastic women were taught how to do a proper breast self-exam.   https://youtu.be/YQwHi4dwb6g?list=PLWFH9X7pVrFO5pPQCie9wMjWDlLkyCIYQ While highly unconventional, particularly for healthcare marketing, the video reached more than 150,000 views, likes and shares on social media.  Jennifer Day, Marketing and Business Development Director at SDMI credits her executive leadership with this honor.  “Without their willingness to step outside of convention, we would have never gotten this off the ground,” says Day.  “We are so incredibly honored to receive national recognition for a project that is so near and dear to our hearts. To even be in the running against the likes of Mars, Incorporated (think M&Ms and Snickers bars) – WOW!  We can’t thank The Chippendales enough for going on this ride with us.” Kristen Makhathini and Joaquin Trujllo of The Chippendales marketing and management team were key players in the project, as well, recruiting three of The Chippendales to participate, donating the use of their theater and their time.  "Chippendales is committed to raising awareness of all issues affecting women's health and was honored to be part of the #SaveALife social media video. It was fun and exciting to support the cause and Steinberg’s vision with this project.” About PR NewsPR News is an organization that provides education, support and resources to public relations and communications professionals and agencies.  Follow this link to see the full list of winners and honorees:  http://www.prnewsonline.com/thelists/social-media-2016-winners#9 About Steinberg DiagnosticA leader of medical imaging in the Las Vegas area for twenty-eight years, Steinberg Diagnostic sets the standard on patient care:  Each SDMI facility is accredited by the ACR as a Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence, and by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Healthcare (AAAHC).  The company is comprised of 27 radiologists, each board-certified by the American Board of Radiology, and a staff of over 400 employees.
